Gudrun Boström new Regional Director for Vi Agroforestry

From mid-October, Ms Gudrun Boström takes office as the new regional director at Vi Agroforestry, leading the organisation's regional office in Nairobi, Kenya.

Vi Agroforestry operates in the countries around Lake Victoria: Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda. The work in the countries is coordinated from a regional office in Nairobi, Kenya, where Ms Boström will now take on the role as director. She takes office at a time when the whole world is facing challenges in the wake of the pandemic, but she nevertheless looks forward to her new role with optimism and confidence:

– I hope I can contribute to strengthening the civil society in the countries where we are working, and I hope I can contribute to development in many ways, also in our own organization and staff, says Ms Boström about her new assignment.

Ms Boström has engaged in development work in one form or another for most of her life. She has previously worked as country manager for Vi Agroforestry in Tanzania. She has also lived and worked in both Zambia and the Central African Republic. In addition, Ms Boström has held a number of managerial positions with well-known organizations in her native country Sweden. In her past roles, she has led the development of operations, organization and competence.

– We are very happy that Gudrun Boström has chosen to be part of Vi Agroforestry again, emphasizes Ms Eva Åberg, Director of Vi Agroforestry. Gudrun is a leader with extensive experience who I am certain will add value to our organisation. I warmly welcome her and look forward to working with her!

Ms Gudrun Boström succeeds Ms Lena Martens Kalmelid as regional director.
