The Alive Programme
ALIVE was a 5-year programme that aimed to promote a sustainable environment which would improve the lives of women and men living in poverty and create societal changes that enable the realisation of human rights and economic empowerment of small-holder farmer families through market-led, sustainable agriculture based on agroforestry. The programme was implemented through farmer organisations in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda and was financed mainly by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, Sida.
The programme has now come to an end and we are excited to share with you the impact the programme had…

Agroforestry through the eyes of the children
The Children’s Manual: “Agroforestry through the Eyes of Children” promotes the concepts of Agroforestry as well as encourages children to play their roles, in the adoption of agroforestry and environmental conservation. Using this manual, children are introduced to gender and children’s rights issues in a manner that is both subtle and child friendly.
