Dorcas Munyua New Country Manager for Vi Agroforestry Kenya

She has over 22 year experience where of 17 years in senior managerial roles and brings in a wealth of skills and experience from working with international development organisations.
Dorcas believes Sustainable development cannot be achieved without strong and equitable partnerships. It is her hope to see that we have a strong team and partners that together contribute towards the realization of Vi Agroforestry mission.
Speaking after her appointment Dorcas said “I am excited about the role as I look forward to work with the Kenya Country team and our development partners in supporting smallholder farmer organisations and their members. I am keen to continue being part of improving the lives and livelihoods of smallholder farmers through agroforestry and sustainable agriculture, increasing their resilience to climate change and strengthening their right to nutritious food”.
In her role as the Kenya Country Manager, Dorcas Munyua will lead the work of Vi Agroforestry Kenya country office in delivering its strategic mandate.
Vi Agroforestry works with local communities in East Africa; Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania to fight poverty and climate change through Agroforestry and sustainable agriculture land management. These countries have been severely affected by deforestation and climate change causing devastating effects on both humans and nature. We have so far contributed to the planting of over 148 million trees and supported over 2.4 million farmer families, improve their livelihoods. Our vision is a sustainable environment that enables women and men living in poverty to improve their lives.
Dorcas will take up her new role from 1st of May 2023 taking over from Elizabeth Mwiyeria, the current Country Manager. Please join us in welcoming Dorcas to her new role!
