The Alive Programme

ALIVE was a 5-year programme that aimed to promote a sustainable environment which would improve the lives of women and men living in poverty. The ALIVE Programme created societal changes to enable the realisation of human rights and economic empowerment of small-holder farmer families through market-led, sustainable agriculture based on agroforestry. The programme was implemented through farmer organisations in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda. It was financed mainly by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, Sida.
