Vi Agroforestry supports farmers, their families and communities to use sustainable agriculture land management (SALM) practices – most notably agroforestry. Shifting to SALM is a smart way to reduce the farm’s vulnerability to climate change and increase the yields. The biodiversity on the land increases, and families can grow more food on the same plots of land and depend less on chemicals for their farming. They can eat a greater variety of food, eat more nutritiously, and can sell and earn more.
How we work
Through local partnerships with farmer organizations, we offer farmer families courses, workshops, study visits, and learning exchanges. Key focus areas include climate change adaptation, mitigation and resilience, biodiversity, soil conservation, indigenous species use, water access, landscape restoration, regenerative agriculture, nature-based solutions and agroecology.
Vi Agroforestry also works to integrate local knowledge, foster collaboration with research institutions and local government bodies, and share valuable insights for scaling impact.
